Wall Street closes negative amid weak US data ahead nonfarm payrolls
FXStreet (San Francisco) - The US stocks market closed Thursday on the downside amid a wave of risk aversion and ahead of the March US employment report that will be published on Friday at 8:30 am ET; 12:30 GMT.
Weaker than expected ISM and more than awaited jobless claims dampened sentiment and dragged major indices lower. The Dow closed flat after reaching new all time high.
The Dow Jones lost 0.45 points to close at 16,572.55; the S&P 500 eased 2.13 pts or 0.11% to finish the day at 1,888.77; while the Nasdaq Composite lost 38.71 points or 0.91% to 4,237.74.
