Merkel running out of options as FDP walk out of four-party coalition agreement talks

Its been almost two months since the election and Merkel are yet to form a government and can't seem to narrow the difference between parties enough to move on to formal talks.

In post-war history, never before has Germany tried to forge a coalition of four parties that are so far apart on many issues such as energy, the environment and migration.

Merkel had been pushing ahead with discussions on forming the four-party government last week with all-night talks with potential coalition partners, but these discussions appear to have just collapsed. The FDP has reportedly just walked out of Germany coalition talks. Her fourth term is under threat here, and hence a drop in the euro today.
