CFTC: Specs bearish in most FX – DB

FXStreet (Barcelona) - The Deutsche Bank Team reviews the Commitments of Traders report for the week ended on Tuesday, March 10, 2015.

“Aggregate speculative net positions decreased by $1.8 billion to -$28.6 billion in ten-year cash equivalents. Eurodollar specs net shorts increased by 189K contracts to 244K contracts, the largest level in 2015 so far. However, speculators in FV futures turned net long by 32K contracts over the week."

“FX: Speculators were more bearish in most of the currency futures, as they added 15K and 9K contracts in AUD and EUR net shorts, respectively. Specs also increased JPY net shorts by 7K contracts.”

“Commodities: Specs net longs in gold futures declined by 34K contracts to 82K contracts, the lowest level since November 2014. Specs also pared oil net longs by 2K contracts over the week.”

“Equities: Specs net shorts in S&P 500 e-mini futures increased by 49K contracts. However, they added 8K and 1K contracts in Nasdaq mini and Nikkei net longs, respectively.”
