USD/CAD climbed to 1-week highs
FXStreet (Córdoba) - During the European session USD/CAD bounced sharply. After bottoming at 1.0985 turned to the upside and climbed back above 1.1000. Price rose further after the release of the Canadian retail sales report for July that came significantly below expectation.
On American hours USD/CAD peaked at 1.1082 hitting the strongest price in a week. Afterwards bounced slightly to the downside, trimming some gains and headed toward Wall Street closing bell the pair was trading at 1.1064/68, up 0.20% from today’s opening price.
Greenback was rising for the third day in a row against the loonie and remained near September highs, with key short term supports at 1.0950 and below here at 1.0920.
